OUR PURPOSE

A cycle of care

We craft leather goods with kindness to nature and people. The long winters of our home in Northern Sweden taught us to waste nothing and to care for each other. Those principles still guide us. In 2018 we launched the Cow Funder Initiative, our way of turning craft into a cycle of care.

Meaningful relations

We know that our success depends on good relations as much as on great materials. Therefore, we pride ourselves with offering a truly personal service to all our customers. We have wonderful, personal relations with a vast number of happy customers - and suppliers. Our commitment starts with offering product samples before a purchase and spans through product repair, if needed.

Trading fairly

Since we do almost everything ourselves, our most important business partners are our staff. Most of them are in Bangladesh, where conditions can be harsh for workers. We aim to make a difference by being different. We offer permanent employment, a safe working environment, fair salaries, full overtime compensation, savings program, education, etc. Benefits for us is a low staff turnover leading to a highly skilled work force. And the satisfaction of generating good relations by trading fairly.

Social mission

The Cow Funder Initiative is a unique program and our way of turning our craft into a cycle of care. By linking the sale of each bag to the purchase of calves for women in rural Bangladesh, we create a chain of value: the calf gets an ideal home environment, the grown up cow provides income to the family, and the hide becomes leather that can be used in our production.

How The Cow Funder Initiative works

A share of the revenue from each bag sold goes to buy calves for women in need around communities in Bagatipara, Bangladesh.

We have a full-time field team that supports the women with livestock management through training and veterinary care.

As calves grow into cows, families gain nourishment and a reliable source of income.

The circle is complete as the hide is tanned into leather and is made available to us in our manufacture of bags and other leather goods. And when we sell them, funds are generated for purchase of new calves for new women.
